Bio

In her practice, Sara Larsen Stiansen draws on sensorial communication, environmental connections, and encounters with people, matter, and places.

Working primarily with moving images she plays with sensation through analogue cameras, testing to what extent the morphological flux of breathing and living matter changes shape. The human body is a site, among other diffuse sites, that inspires a sensuous rethinking of bodies and movement. Larsen Stiansen’s installations merge machines and the visceral; form and matter begin to dissolve in the play with presence and haptics. In Bergen Kunsthall, a new work takes us into a study of a subtle material tension, with an egg as a cypher to explore what it means to hold potential.
